Finding Company, Financial and Economic Data for MSc Dissertation


On Wednesday 14th June, Harry Gibbs, Business Librarian, will give a demonstration of Datastream and other company, financial and economic databases, including Fame, FitchConnect, Zephyr and WRDS.

Datastream is a large and complex financial database covering company data, stock indices, bonds, commodities prices, interest rates, exchange rates, futures, options, funds, macroeconomic data and more… It covers the period 1950 – present.

Fame – UK company information & accounts for the last 10 years

FitchConnect – worldwide information & accounts for banks for the last 10 years

Zephyr – worldwide mergers, acquisitions and other deals data

WRDS – various data mostly for the USA

Time: 2pm (the demonstration will last about 1.5 hours, and there should be time for questions afterwards)
