International Student Careers

Here in the Business School we recognise the high number of international students, many of whom have voiced their concerns around finding and securing jobs in the UK. Searching and applying for roles can be challenging for any student, but it can be especially hard navigating what the current visa and sponsorship rules are and knowing which companies are more likely to consider the sponsorship route.

To support our students navigate this process, we are delighted to be working with eCareersGrad. As an International student, would you like to know the secrets to securing a UK-based grad scheme, job role or internship opportunity? And would it help to have access to a searchable listing of the UKā€™s biggest ā€˜sponsoringā€™ employers to be able to target your applications to those with a history of employing Internationals? eCareersGradā€™s latest course is built around a unique dataset of employer listings – ranked, sector-based and searchable by those who have sponsored the most International students for the Skilled worker visa over the last 3 years.

There is also a course around achieving interview success where you will learn how to prepare for your next interview, deal with common questions such as motivation and competency and make the most of the eCareersGrad ‘Interview Success’ course.

Please watch the video below to learn more about the course for International Students:

How do I access it?

Students are able to access eCareersGrad via two boxes on the advertising grid when they log in to MyCareer called ā€˜Access eCareersGradā€™s eLearning course for international studentsā€™ and ā€˜Prepare for Interviews using eCareersGradā€™s eLearning coursesā€™.Ā Both are on the bottom row of the image grid on the custom pane. Ā

Are you enrolled on the Business School Talent Development Programme? If so, you will also achieve 5 points for completing the course!

If you have any questions or issues accessing the courses, please email SBSEmployability@soton.ac.uk
