Talent Development Programme Workshop 3

“Getting Ready for the Future Workplace”

 Date: Wednesday 1st May, 14:00 – 17:00

 Location: 176/1125 (Boldrewood Campus)

 Outline of event:

We are delighted to open registrations for our final Talent Development Programme Workshop and Awards event which will take place on Wednesday 1st May at 14:00 – 17:00.

We have a packed agenda with external guest speakers and opportunities to interact and network with industry. We look forward to welcoming you to our new  Business School at Boldrewood campus.

All business students are welcome to attend, even if you have not completed the programme. Please register below.

The goal of this interactive event is to prepare you for the transition from being a student to entering the workplace and to develop your business acumen. The emphasis is on transferable skills and building overall business awareness as opposed to the subject-specific knowledge you are gaining on your course. If you are interested to explore what future workplaces are going to look like and how you can best prepare to enter industry, this event is for you!

Following introductions, and setting the context, we will welcome Richard Hepworth to the stage, who will kick off the event with a keynote speech. Richard, an alumnus of University of Southampton, who has held senior roles at companies such as PwC and KPMG, will tell his personal story whilst exploring the theme of the continued digitalisation of brands, customer experience and employee experience. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions.

Following the keynote speech, we will get you all moving into 7 breakout sessions, led by industry experts and colleagues from the university, with each session covering an important topic related to being ready for the workplace of the future, for example, the impact of AI technologies, the challenges and opportunities associated with becoming net zero, the importance of building an entrepreneurial mindset, and women in business. During these sessions, you will have the opportunity to take a deep dive into the topic, learn from the experts, but also debate the issues with your peers.

The event will conclude with key points as to how students can get ready for the workplace.
