Are you new to the University of Southampton Business School (USBS)?
Take part in our Induction Challenge, a fun and interactive way to explore campus, meet fellow students, and discover the key places you’ll be using throughout your studies.
You can complete the challenge individually or in a small group during Welcome Week and the first two weeks of semester.
You’ll hear more about the challenge during your Programme Welcome Talk. For UG students, our fantastic Peer Leaders will be available to support you in your first peer leader session!
How will the challenge work?
1. Form your team (or go solo!)
You can complete the challenge:
- Individually, or
- In a group of 3-6 students
It’s a great opportunity to get to know other students on your programme.
2. Choose a day to complete the challenge
Pick a time during Welcome Week or within the first two weeks of semester to complete the challenge.
Undergraduate students: Your campus tour during your first Peer Leader session may help you when completing the challenge.
3. Explore campus and complete the challenge
Access the Induction Challenge Form (click here)
Using the clues and locations provided in the form, visit different areas around campus and upload photos.

4. Need a map?
Use our Campus Tour Guide to help navigate your way around Highfield Campus and discover useful student facilities.

As you explore campus, take note of the places you visit. You may discover:
- Great study spaces
- Places to eat and meet friends
- Support services and wellbeing resources
- Sports and recreation facilities
- Useful locations you’ll need throughout your degree
The challenge is completely self-guided, so take your time and enjoy exploring!
