Who are they?
Peer Advisors are previous University of Southampton Business School postgraduate students, who have just completed their Masters degree. They will provide guidance and support to every new University of Southampton Business School Postgraduate Student, in order to help facilitate your smooth transition to university life and Southampton.
What do they do?
The Peer Advisors are available to offer a range of support to you, as new postgraduate students. Take a look at some of the support they provide/is available to you, below:
- Offer support via email if you have questions: sbspgadv@soton.ac.uk
- Join our social media accounts! Instagram: @sbsstudents / Twitter: @SotonBusiness / LinkedIn: University of Southampton Business School
- They will create group chats for all postgraduate business school students on both WeChat and WhatsApp. Look out for emails from them in order to join these chats. On these chats they will keep you updated with the latest information and news in relation to events and support available to you
- They plan both social and academic events to help you meet new people, settle into life in Southampton and at the university, and to help you get the most out of your time here as a student
- A large part of their role is to signpost you to further support. Often the Peer Advisors may not be able to directly solve your issue for you, but they will be able to point you in the right direction of where to go and who to speak to
