Being part of a society provides you with many different benefits. The first one is the impact it will have on your social life. You will meet like-minded people who share an interest with you and you will widen your social network, beyond your course and the people you live with. Not only will you make friends but through active participation you will demonstrate a number of qualities. You will become a team player by showing the commitment to other members of the society. Additionally, by succeeding in your academic work alongside active participation in a society, you will demonstrate time management skills. It gives you a great chance to develop all kind of skills valued by employers.
